eHealth System – Presentation 5th December
South Western Sydney Medicare Local would like to extend an invitation to your groups to attend a presentation on the National eHealth system and what it means for Veterans, Ex-Serving Defence Force Personnel and Returned Servicemen and Women.
DAY: Thursday, 5th December 2013
TIME: 2pm
VENUE: Mittagong RSL, cnr Hume Highway and Bessemer Street, Mittagong
Light refreshments will be provided, RSVP required by Friday 22nd November for catering purposes.
The eHealth system delivers benefits to the Veteran community including:
- better coordination of health care, particularly for veterans with chronic conditions and complex health needs;
- having key health information available at all times could be potentially life-saving and will mean improved management of medicines, diagnostic and treatment records; and
- when veterans are travelling or can’t see their usual health care provider they won’t need to remember or repeat their medical history, medications and test results because it will all be there on their eHealth record.
The presentation takes about half an hour with time for questions at the end. We will also be offering Assisted Registration for those who would like to sign up for an eHealth record on the day. If you would like to sign up for an eHealth record, please bring your Medicare Card or DVA card and photo identification such as a passport or drivers licence. In the event you do not have photo identification you will be required to provide identification adding to 100 points.
Please RSVP by Friday 22nd November either to myself at this email address or my colleague Sharon Feeney at sfeeney [at] swsml [dot] com [dot] au. Alternatively we can be contacted on 1300 179 765. Feel free to pass this email on to any one else you feel may benefit from attending. We look forward to seeing you there.
Regards,
KELLY WOODS eHealth Consumer Registration Officer
